The Delicacy Seen in Original

Public Area Design by Chin-Chun Wu

A well-designed public area in a community offers residents diverse lifestyles and communication opportunities. The desire for living in a natural place has been deeply ingrained in the minds of most people. Chin-Chun Wu's design, "The Delicacy Seen in Original," captures the essence of this desire through its unique and captivating features.

On the ground floor, the public area is a testament to the designer's vision. The outdoor rock waterfall wall and greenery plants wall create a harmonious blend of nature and architecture. Inside, the bar area is furnished with rocks and log tables that extend outward, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The titanium-plated LED board emits a golden light, adding a touch of delicacy and elegance to the space.

The swimming pool and SPA on the fourth floor are designed to bring the outdoors inside. The restrooms and dressing rooms act as a medium, with a grille ceiling and natural lighting creating an environment filled with natural light. The beauty of inconsistency is highlighted through the polished stone floor and coarse stone walls, which correspond to the flowing water and swirling steam, creating captivating images on the floor and walls.

The design covers an area of 450 square meters and is located in Taichung City, Taiwan. It was completed in 2015. The design team, led by Chin-Chun Wu, has meticulously researched and incorporated various elements to create a unique and captivating space. The oval ceiling lights magnify the entire space, while the audio equipment plays different music to set different atmospheres. The modern blue light, olive green flannel couch, and silver pillows add diversity and ambiance through different lighting techniques.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was creating a sense of privacy and isolation within the space. The walls were furnished with sound-absorbing foam and leather to minimize interference between different areas. The entrance of the driveway, often overlooked, was designed with a white U-shaped ceiling that mimics the delicate wood grains curling up and flowing down, creating a calming effect for residents after a long day of work.

"The Delicacy Seen in Original" was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. Chin-Chun Wu's design truly embodies these qualities, making it a standout in the field of public area design.
